DPUCEnergy Audit

In June 2006 Celtic Energy completed an energy audit of the DPUC building in New Britain, CT. Although the building is only ten years old, Celtic Energy identified seven measures, including: lighting upgrades, daylighting and occupancy controls, expansion and retro-commissioning of the BAS, and other measures.

The measures will produce annual savings on the order of:

  • 176,492 kWh of electricity
  • 11,481 therms (or ccf) of natural gas
  • $43,840 reduction in utility and $500 in O&M expenditures.
  • This represents a 40% percent savings in FY 2005 utility expenditures.

The building is also eligible for a USEPA ENERGY STAR label, which Celtic Energy, on behalf of the DPUC, will be submitting an application for shortly.
