1. Energy Savings Performance Contract Consulting

- USGBC is a non-profit consortium of building professionals and firms which certify projects as energy and environmentally conscientious through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Program.
- LEED™ certified buildings can reduce operating costs by 50%, improve performance, productivity, and health of occupants with construction costs comparable to standard projects
- Mr. Halpin is a LEED™ Accredited professional, and can manage a LEED™ project for an owner, ensuring success by working closely with the designers
3. Energy Simulation Modeling
- Develop computer simulation models of new and existing facility energy use for utility programs, LEED Projects, etc.
- Programs used include: eQuest, Power DOE, Visual DOE, Trane Trace, etc.
4. Energy Audits
- Preliminary Audits - A cursory investigation aimed at helping to pre-qualify projects before proceeding to a more detailed evaluation
- Investment Grade Audits - A detailed engineering document confirming the scope and savings of potential projects
5. Maximize Benefits of Utility and Government Grants and Incentives
- Review Utility Rate Tariffs to ensure proper application of most beneficial rates to customer facility
- Manage and expedite participation in utility, Federal and State programs such as USDOE’s Rebuild America
6. USEPA Energy Star Building Certification
- Conduct benchmarking, reporting, and implementation to meet eligibility criteria for certification, Energy Star Plaque, and public recognition
7. Personnel Training Services
- Train Client Personnel in High Performance Buildings, Energy Efficiency, Green Design, etc. to ensure a long-term success of programs. Mr. Halpin has many years of experience training executives, managers, administrators, design and construction professionals, and operation and maintenance personnel in various disciplines
8. Technical Assistance During Architectural/Engineering Design
- Review of AE plans and specs for energy saving opportunities:
- Review AE plans, looking specifically for opportunities to improve the efficiency of the building systems. The systems typically analyzed include lighting, HVAC, boilers, chillers, controls, building envelope (windows, insulation, etc.), renewable energy technologies, and production equipment
- Perform cursory cost/benefit analyses for the recommendations made, with the assistance of the PM
9. Design and Enhance Corporate/Government Agency Energy Standards
- Critique architectural and engineering design standards to improve energy efficiency of new facilities
10. Develop Energy Information, Accounting, and Benchmarking Systems
- Create utility usage and cost tracking, and consolidated bill payment schemes
- Benchmark facilities against industry peers
- Well developed programs can save customers up to 5% of costs
11. Energy Procurement Services
- Prepare Energy Commodity (Electricity, Natural gas) Requests for Proposal to allow the customer to competitively procure energy in deregulated markets, further reducing operating costs
- Energy Sourcing Services- Develop economic and technical comparisons of utilizing alternative sources of energy for boilers, chillers, compressors, etc.
12. Quality Assurance and Other Services
- Celtic Energy can provide a flexible array of services, which are aimed at ensuring that projects are conceived, designed, implemented, commissioned, and monitored in energy efficient and cost-effective fashion. Services could include:
- Savings Calculation and Technical Approach validation services- helps owners validate the reasonableness and accuracy of ESCO savings claims
- Measurement and Verification Services- Review of ESCO and vendor proposals to ensure accuracy of energy saving claims, conduct pre and post installation inspections
- Assistance during due diligence phase of property search. Celtic Energy may be able to add some energy saving ideas which can be used to leverage more owner funded build-out during contract negotiations
- Coordination between disciplines, and project groups to ensure integrity of energy efficient designs from design development to commissioning
